Pete Morrison, "Break in the Storm"
Pete Morrison studied drawing and painting at The Glasgow School of Art, graduating in 1997. Having grown up on the west coast, he is drawn to capture spray, movement and crashing waves against weathered rocks, using fluid materials to describe the energy and unpredictability of the sea.
He creates play on the juxtaposition of the Scottish landscape and its extraordinary light, against the power of surging water and extreme weather. Pete follows a journey of discovery in creating a work, allowing acrylics and inks to merge with pastels and dry materials, always being compelled to uncover the rhythms of the land sea.
