Angus Clyne

I have been a professional Woodturner making my living from the work I create since 1997. I originally studied fine art and photography before spending time travelling the world. I now work from my studio and gallery next to my home and large garden in Perthshire, Scotland.

I try to live a low impact lifestyle growing, foraging and sourcing food while making my living from my immediate area. All the wood I use is locally sourced and sustainable, it comes to me as wet logs from tree surgeons, parks and gardens. There is a story behind every piece of wood. I strive to display the wood at its best in my work, everything should work together in harmony to produce pleasing, interesting, engaging, durable, collectible and functional art. I draw inspiration for my work from nature, memories and my immediate surroundings, I am always looking.

I have been on the Register of Professional Turners since 1999 and have exhibited widely throughout the UK and USA and have work in the permanent collections of the Shipley Art Gallery as well as the Scottish Parliament.
