Nichol Wheatley is a Scottish artist mainly concerned with painting. However he is also known for being the artist behind the Beithir, a huge community mosaic artwork in Glasgow. He is also known for his work on the the cycle of murals telling the story of Tam o’shanter in Òran Mór in Glasgow. His work encompasses painting, large murals, mosaic and occasional work on large feature films. He is also known for long-lasting collaboration with the famous polymath Alasdair Gray.
He is based in Kinross-shire where he paints the crepuscular landscape trying to suggest the emotional responses that he finds in the land.
